The status of rating appeals currently being heard, or recently decided, by the Board of Handicappers is shown below.   The 1st reading of a rating appeal indicates the board of handicappers have made an initial evaluation of the appeal and allows for a period of time for discussion and comment before making any rating changes.    The 2nd reading of the appeal is held at a later meeting to consider additional information and any comments received on the appeal prior to final resolution of the appeal.   Appeals listed as "Pending" have been received by PHRF, but have not yet been heard by the board of handicappers.   Appeals listed as "Tabled" require more information for the board to adequately review the appeal.  Appeals listed as "Denied" have been considered, and rejected, by the board of handicappers.   Those appeals listed as "Approved" indicate agreement by the board of handicappers with the appeal, and the rating changes will be effective as indicated on the official PHRF Valid List. Comments, pro or con, on appeals not yet decided by the Board of Handicappers, must be submitted to the local area handicapper, IN WRITING, prior to the next scheduled meeting.    All appeals must be submitted on the  PHRF Appeals Form.    BRTG is the current base rating for boat/class, VRTG is the current valid rating for the boat/class, PBRTG is the base rating proposed in the appeal, and PVRTG is the valid rating proposed in the appeal.    For complete, up to date information on the Valid Rating for all yachts, please consult the current Official Valid Listing.     For specific details concerning individual appeals, contact your local area handicapper.       If you require a PHRF rating for your boat, follow the directions for obtaining a Valid Rating and completing the Application Forms.   If you have any questions regarding the information listed here, please call 410-414-3270.
